The Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung, BfR, (the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment) in Berlin recently welcomed Sercon’s systems engineer Rob Kameny, who visited to conduct an annual service on their mass spectrometers.
Stephanie Panitz runs several instruments at BFR, including a Europa EA-GSL, an HT-EA, and an HS2022.
The BFR’s main areas of interest is health assessments of biological and material -the chemical safety of food and other risk assessments covering genetically modified organisms in food. In 2023, BFR carried out 885,000 risk assessments and was involved in 52 EU projects.
