Biolab Cerballiance Martinique

Sercon has a strong installation base around the world, and while remote support forms part of all our service contracts, our team of installation and service engineers get to travel regularly for installations and service visits.

While their schedules can be gruelling, it’s not all hard work. When service engineer Thomas Iordanidis was allocated to deliver a 2 day annual service visit for one of CERBA’s labs, Biolab Cerballiance, it wasn’t a return trip to Paris but a whistlestop visit to the Caribbean island of Martinique!

Having completed the service programme on the lab’s ABCA2, our high performance, high sample throughput isotope ratio mass spectrometer for breath analysis, Thomas took some annual leave to spend a bit more time on the island, visiting the beautiful botanical gardens (Jardin de Balata) and watching the local hummingbirds. He also enjoyed the warm weather, interacting with the locals as well as tasting local dishes and seafood. 

Service engineer Rob Kameny has also been visiting this laboratory since April 2021, and finds the high level of satisfaction the lab team always express with Sercon’s support extremely rewarding, and added that “The hospitable nature of the local staff adds significant value to these interactions, making the long journey both meaningful and worthwhile.”
