Canadian Customer Training Visit
Lecturer and Head of the Marine Chemistry and Mass Spectrometry Laboratory at the Institute of Marine Sciences at the University of Quebec at Rimouski, Mathieu Babin, has been spending last week and this with the engineering team at Sercon’s Head Office in Crewe.
Mathieu’s lab, which offers analytical chemistry services to the regional and national scientific community and to private companies, is receiving two IRMS systems to expand the analysis capabilities. During his visit he will be trained in the system hardware and operation whilst optimising the methodologies for specific sample materials.
The instruments and prep systems, detailed below, will be shipped by the end of August and Sercon’s engineering team will have them installed at Institute of Marine Sciences in September.
- The first system is an HS2022 Mass Spectrometer with permanent magnet, interfaced to a PyroEArth and VerSA gas handling system
- The second HS2022 IRMS instrument has an electromagnet and trapping loop system, and is also interfaced to a PyroEArth
“Our close relationships with customers – established and new, like the University of Quebec –are integral to how Sercon works. Spending time with our team through final testing and set up stages for new instruments, as well as on-site training, is all part of the package,” commented Garry Armstrong, Director. “We’re delighted that Mathieu and the team at the University of Quebec have chosen Sercon equipment to meet their future research needs.”
