Installation at the University of Vienna
June saw Systems Engineer Tom Iordanidis at the University of Vienna, undertaking an Integra2 system installation together with training in the system and its software for Katerina Douka from the Department of Evolutionary Anthropology.
The installation went smoothly and the instrument is obtaining good dual CO2 and N2 specifications.
The system will be used for the isotopic analyses (CO2 & N2) of a diverse array of archaeological material, such as bone collagen, teeth and charcoal. The data will be used to assess subsistence and dietary practices, and as past environmental proxies.
Our engineers enjoy the travel elements of their role as well as the satisfaction of a completed installation, upgrade or service. On this trip, Tom, used his free time to explore the city’s parks and architecture. He also enjoyed trying traditional Viennese cuisine including Wiener Schnitzel and Goulash!
