Service and maintenance visit to the Institute of Molecular Biology, Academia Sinica, Taipei in Taiwan

Thomas Iordanidis, one of our team of systems engineers, is just back from a service and maintenance visit to the Institute of Molecular Biology, Academia Sinica, Taipei in Taiwan.

The Institute’s lab runs an Integra 2 system (see below), managed by Shu-Chun Fan. Thomas carried out the service, extending his stay to improve the system’s performance, as well as to carry out some additional customer training. All specifications were met and good results obtained on the samples provided.

The Integra2 is the only benchtop combined EA-IRMS. This innovative system seamlessly incorporates the high-level design features of our renowned IRMS and EA instruments, featuring trapping loop technology, a stainless steel flight tube, and a thoria-coated filament resistant to oxidation. Our engineers have the travel bug as well as a great deal of technical skill, and they use any downtime during their visits to explore the area they’re working in. Whilst in Taiwan, Thomas got the chance to experience a very welcoming culture, taste some nice Taiwanese food including ramen and dumplings, took a day trip to explore the island and went to Taipei Zoo to see a panda, which did not disappoint!
