Integra2 Install, Oxford University

Sercon Engineer Thomas Iordanidis has recently completed the installation of an Integra2 IRMS for Oxford University’s research laboratory for archaeology & the history of art.

Start up training was also provided to Peter Ditchfield and his team at the lab, who will be using the new Integra2 to analyse the C and N isotopic composition of samples submitted for radiocarbon dating as part of the NIEF national facility.

The team will also be using their in house CO2 collection system to trap the CO2 effluent from the split valve feature of the Integra2 which will then be used to produce graphite targets for the actual 14C measurement on the accelerator mass spec in the AMS lab.
