Service Contracts & Emergency Visits
Service support that keeps your instrument working
When your instrument needs attention, you need experienced support that gets you back to reliable analysis with minimal disruption. Sercon provides specialist service and technical support throughout the life of your instrument — from routine preventative maintenance to urgent fault diagnosis and on-site repair.
Prevent problems before they affect your work
An annual service helps identify potential issues before they become unexpected failures. Our experienced engineers inspect and maintain your instrument, helping to protect performance, reliability and uptime.
Your service visit is also an opportunity to review your analytical requirements with our team and identify any changes, upgrades or improvements that could benefit your laboratory.
Rapid support when you have a problem
If an unexpected issue occurs, Sercon engineers can provide rapid technical support to diagnose the problem and determine the most effective solution.
For many issues, our team can provide immediate assistance remotely by telephone, email or secure remote access. Where an issue requires physical intervention, our specialist engineers can attend your site to diagnose and resolve the problem.
Our objective is simple: resolve the issue as quickly as possible and minimise disruption to your laboratory.
Extend the life and capability of your instrument
If your instrument is becoming difficult to maintain, no longer meets your analytical requirements, or simply needs to deliver reliable performance for many more years, Sercon can provide a cost-effective alternative to replacement.
Our upgrade and refurbishment services can renew key components such as electronics, pumping systems and ion optics, bringing older systems back to a high standard of performance and extending their useful operating life.
This can be particularly valuable when budgets are constrained or when your existing instrument remains well suited to your analytical requirements.
Service Contracts
A Sercon service contract gives you ongoing access to specialist support and additional benefits designed to reduce the cost and disruption associated with maintaining your instrument.
Service contract holders receive:
- Unlimited remote technical support by telephone and email
- Free remote dial-in support for faster fault diagnosis and assistance
- Discounted consumables and spare parts throughout the contract period
- Preventative annual servicing to help maintain instrument performance and reliability
With a Sercon service contract, you have a specialist team available to help prevent problems, resolve issues quickly and keep your instrument delivering reliable results.

Upgrades, System Refurbishments & Training
To ensure that all Sercon instruments remain fully operational and productive, we offer a range of upgrades and system refurbishments. All systems can benefit from electronics upgrades, pumping system renewal and ion optics refurbishments. This means that all systems can be brought up to the latest technology and allows customers with less funding to continue their research.
Our team also provide bespoke training for every instrument at the point of installation as well as when staffing or analysis techniques require more knowledge or refresher training.
