Oslo Service Visit

For his first service visit in Scandinavia, Service and Installation Engineer Henry Cooke visited the Unger-Vetlesens Research Institute at Lovisenberg Diakonale Sykenhus in Olso.

Our customer, Gunn Helen Malmstrøm, is engaged with biomedical research using an ABCA2 instrument which was due for its annual service and maintenance visit.

Sometimes an annual service visits go very smoothly, while on others more work is needed to get instrumentation back to delivered standard. In this instance, Henry installed a new PC and upgraded to the latest software to ensure the ABCA2 breath test instrument was functioning perfectly before he left.

Our engineers usually get a chance to spend a few hours as a tourist on their visits, and Henry had a very nice evening walking around the water in the centre of Oslo. He went into the Munch gallery to see The Scream and have a beer on the rooftop bar.

The ABCA2 is Sercon’s high performance, high sample throughput isotope ratio mass spectrometer for breath analysis. The outstanding performance and versatility, combined with user friendly software, make the ABCA2 the only choice for 13C breath tests.

Superior performance, high sample throughput and unlimited sample capacity ensure that this is the ultimate instrument for Helicobacter pylori detection. Other demonstrated 13C applications include: fat malabsorption, pancreatic function, lactose intolerance, bile acid circulation, gastric emptying, liver function and metabolic turnover rate measurements.
