University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana

Service engineer Dave Harris recently found himself at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. This time, his work was at the Center for Environmental Science and Technology, where he worked with Stable Isotope Specialist Dana Biasatti on SO2 set up for a Sercon Integra2 instrument, for which training was also required.

Dana Biasatti joined Notre Dame Research (NDR) in 2016 and is a Stable Isotope Specialist at the Center for Environmental Science and Technology (CEST). She maintains three isotope ratio mass spectrometers (IRMS), along with five peripheral preparation devices, and trains users to analyse their samples. Before joining NDR, Dana was a Research Associate at the University of Maryland Chesapeake Biological Laboratory for five years, where she was responsible for maintaining a stable isotope laboratory. Dana received a PhD in Geology from Florida State University in 2009.

It was extremely hot during Dave’s visit, even more reason for him to stand in Lake Michigan; he also managed to fit in watching on of the England games in the European Championships in an Irish bar in downtown Chicago!
