Systems Engineer Rob Kameny visited the Stable Isotope Measurement Facility at the University of Oklahoma last month to assist with the relocation and recommissioning of a Sercon Integra2 to their new lab.

Designed to support the study of carbon and nitrogen elemental and stable isotope analyses of solid materials such as plants, soils, and sediment, the new lab is run by Tim Filley and Jani Sparks. Jani commented: “It has been great to have our Integra 2 in our newly renovated laboratory space. The move of the Integra into this space will make it much easier for our future training and collaborations. We’re especially excited to use our Integra for some upcoming trainings with our sister lab, LABISOP, which is at the Universidad Nacional de San Agustin in Arequipa.”

Instrument relocation and reverification can be a complex and delicate process.; as well as recommissioning the Integra2, Rob was able to adjust the autosampler to ensure their system was fully back to operational status.

Whilst in Oklahoma, Rob enjoyed sampling local foods – see photo below!
