Further Service Team Expansion
We recently introduced Henry Cook as a new member of our service team. Another recent addition is Aoife Davies Gardner, who has already been with the business for 2 months.
With a degree in Forensic Science and a masters in Analytical and Forensic Chemistry, Aoife started her career working in an analytical lab environment when jobs in forensics proved hard to come by and was always open to a more challenging career path.
Engaging with engineers visiting her lab to service and maintain equipment sparked an interest in Aoife, and after many conversations with engineers, she decided that her interest in how the machines she worked with were actually built, she took the leap to our Service team earlier this year.
She is already cleared to work on Sercon’s ABCA breath testing machines and has already undertaken her first successful supervised maintenance visit.
Her background in Chemistry means that she already understands what users want Sercon instruments to do, which will help her interaction with our customers around the world. And having worked in corporate environments, Aoife really appreciates the close knit team at Sercon where people are interested in supporting each other and all pulling in the same direction. “I’m looking forward to getting out to more customers, initially across Europe though later worldwide – especially southern parts of Asia.”
Most of all though, Aoife has already identified that “I am never going to run out of things to learn here!”.
In her spare time, Aoife is very sports focused and for a number of years competed nationally in martial arts. After a back injury, she took up cross fit at the gym supported by a PT friend and is already competing in remote national competitions, hoping to take part in some regional trials in the near future.
