Introducing Mark Widgery

Mark Widgery joined Sercon Instruments 14 months ago as a Production Engineer, a varied role, which has continued to develop over his time with the business as he has taken on additional responsibilities with the retirement of our Production Manager Paul Hayes.

Despite not having been with the company long, Mark has already seen changes in the business. He joined a Sercon when it was a limited company, shortly before we were acquired by the TechComp Group. The change of ownership of the business continues to support and provide opportunity: “Sercon are very much part of the new group structure and I enjoy my role within it,” he explained, continuing: “My background is in a senior engineering role for a major international company so I’m used to working within an organisation with lots of separate sites and product ranges; I welcome any new opportunities the acquisition brings the business.”

What does Mark enjoy most about his role? “I enjoy playing my part in the ongoing improvement and development of the Sercon product range, especially with regards to electrical compliance which I have a lot experience with.”

When he’s not working, Mark, who lives locally in Sandbach, enjoys fishing and hiking – here he is with his daughter having just reached the summit of Snowdon!
