New Building Update

Sercon got the keys for its future premises at the end of April, and the refurbishment and reconfiguration for the company’s future needs is very nearly complete!

Once occupied by Sercon’s forerunner Europa Scientific, Europa House future-proofs the business well through its next stage of growth.

Newly configured, the building will serve as much more than a Head Office. Spacious engineering and manufacturing facilities, a dedicated sample preparation and laboratory facility for Sercon Analytical, as well as meeting and training spaces, all with lots of natural light, create a much more pleasant working environment.

The refurbishment and reconfiguration, led by MD Mark O’Connor, has incorporated much more than a standard office fit out; “Sercon works on the leading edge of science, and our high-tech manufacturing and engineering processes have demanded new wiring, carpets and gas lines for testing machinery, and large doors to facilitate easy moving of instruments,” he explained.

Less than a mile from the existing site, work on Europa House now nearing completion. The next stage is to plan the actual move. Mark elaborated: “With so much sensitive – not to mention large and heavy – equipment to relocate as well as connection and testing of vital services, the logistics of moving the business lock stock and barrel are being meticulously planned and will be conducted over a period of time to ensure there is no interruption to business as usual.”
