Sam Stockton Profile

Operations & Logistics Co-ordinator Sam Stockton has been with Sercon for nearly three years. Taken on as the company continued to grow. Sam is a key player in our operation, looking after suppliers and inventory, purchasing requirements and working closely with production and engineering teams to ensure they have the required parts for builds, installs and service visits.

Over time, Sam’s role has continued to evolve and he now plays a big role in our ISO Audits, helping to make sure we continue to stay compliant, co-ordinating with business Development to schedule work for production and organising critical parts being sent to engineers around the world. He has become the ‘go to’ person for the production team as well as engineering and business development when they need help.

The thing Sam most enjoys about his job is that every day is different. “There are so many different parts to the role and a big part of it is having to be reactive – you never know when a customer or engineer is going to need something urgently and it’s critical, and I am able to act quickly to those needs” he explained. “Another big plus for my role is that as well as interacting with suppliers and customers I also interact with every colleague within the company on a daily basis.”

With the retirement of Paul Hayes last week, Sam will work more closely with Simon Moseley, Operations Manager, to ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently. Sam will miss Paul: “Paul was nothing but helpful from the moment I joined Sercon, he was been a pleasure to work with and taught me so much. I am sure we will keep in touch and I wish him all the best in his retirement.”

Thinking about the future at Sercon, Sam commented: “We’ve had a many changes over the last year with the building move, new ownership and now a new production structure, so my main aim over the next 12 months is to get production running as smoothly as possible and ensure the supply chain is as strong as it can be so we can keep up with demand and continue to provide a great service to new and existing customers.”

Sam lives with his partner Kerry and their Goldador Rex in Crewe and in his spare time loves to watch sports, mainly football (his team is Manchester United). Kerry and Sam love taking Rex out on walks and of course, going to the pub. They also like to travel as much as they can over the past couple of years they have been to Krakow, Egypt, Turkey, Albania and Italy.
