Sercon – Techcomp Staff Meeting

Following last week’s announcement that Sercon is now part of Techcomp Instruments, Sercon staff were invited to a company wide meeting yesterday to find out more as well as to meet some of their new colleagues in the Techcomp group.

Organised by Sercon Director Garry Armstrong, the Sercon Team were joined for a buffet lunch and meeting by Richard Finlayson, CEO of Techcomp Europe and a number of staff from other Techcomp companies.

Richard, in his introduction, reiterated that the purpose of bringing Sercon into the group is to build on Sercon’s expertise and experience to create a more powerful presence in the inorganic mass spectrometry sector, as suggested by Dr Zenon Palacz, MD of Isotopx.

Change can be unsettling, however Roger Fenske, CEO of Edinburgh Instruments and Steve Guilfoyle, Sales & Marketing Manager at Isotopx, both have experience of working for businesses that were acquired by Techcomp. As a result, they were both able to talk to the Sercon team about the many positives of the experience, including significant opportunities for career progression as their employers enjoyed accelerated growth and increased profitability as distinct entities within Techcomp.

After the formal presentation, Sercon staff were able to spend some time mixing with new colleagues from across the group.

Garry commented: “We’ll continue to build Sercon, within the Techcomp group – the benefits of a wider network of colleagues as well as access to systems and processes will help us to accelerate our path as we continue to collaborate, create and innovate across the global research community,” concluding that: “I was really pleased that so many people joined our team for this introductory meeting from across the group – a brilliant opportunity to make the first move in taking our team with us on this exciting journey.”
