Upgrade at KU Leuven

Henry Cooke, systems engineer recently completed an upgrade project for Greet Vandermeulen of the TARGID (Translational Research in Gastrointestinal Disorders) unit at KU Leuven.

The objective was to upgrade their old Europa 20-20 mass spec with new pumps and a HD collector, and replace their old prep units with new PyroEarth and Aqua. The new HD capability is being used to measure doubly labelled water from various medical studies.

The Europa 20-20 was originally installed over 30 years ago in 1994, and the upgrade is a fantastic example of our commitment to the ongoing functionality of our legacy instruments.

KU Leuven is a Catholic research university in the city of Leuven, Belgium. Founded in 1425, it is the oldest university in Belgium.

While there, Henry enjoyed Leuven’s lively town centre, and took a trip to Antwerp to watch some football at the weekend.
