Visit from State Department of Petroleum, Kenya

Last week, Craig Barrie from Applied Petroleum Technology (APT) spent time at our Crewe Headquarters along with his visitors from the State Department of Petroleum in Kenya, who were in the UK for training from APT in analyses, evaluation and interpretation of geochemical data from gas seeps.

The training, led by Craig and Lloyd Jones from APT, was a follow up to Lloyd’s in-country seep training in Kenya earlier in the year. It included visits to a number of APT’s partner companies and laboratories in the UK, including Sercon and Isolab Scientific, which is led by former Sercon MD Mark O’Connor and which is based on our site.

APT has offices in Norway, UK, USA and Canada and laboratories in Norway and the UK and offers high quality analyses and consulting services to the oil industry, within the areas of exploration and production and the disciplines of geochemistry and petroleum systems modelling.

Garry Armstrong and Mark Gibson, as well as Mark O’Connor, were delighted to host Craig and the Kenyan delegation, showcasing our high tech manufacturing and testing facilities. The visitors also had the opportunity to discuss the capabilities of our instruments and prep systems in the context of their work back in Kenya.
