Sercon Analytical Up To Speed in Just 4 Days!

It didn’t take long for the team at recently formed Sercon Analytical to get the new lab set up and fully functional, from scratch and running test batches in just four days!

In the new operation’s opening week the first new samples, of dried plant materials, arrived at Sercon Analytical from a client in Korea. The first customer samples to be run were some hair samples from Sweden. Further samples (including breath samples from Sweden) have also arrived for analysis.

Both customers previously worked with Iso-Analytical, before Sercon acquired the company’s assets from liquidators.

Moving the lab to Sercon’s Head Office in Crewe was a delicate and well planned operation.

The kit was all carefully decommissioned for transportation to its new location, where the team, led by Simon Moseley and Sam Stockton expertly moved it all into its new position here and set it up ready to be integrated into the Sercon gas systems and internet network. The machines were then recommissioned over the first week by Lynsey Wheeldon and Chuck (Charles Belanger), ready for customer samples. This involved multiple checks for gas leaks and beam stability.

The configuration of the lab’s systems is currently the same in its new site as it was at Iso-Analytical although the plan is to expand with the addition of new Sercon machines over the coming months.
