Work Experience for Bury Grammar School Pupil

When Development Scientist Tom Hankinson recently represented Sercon at a careers fair hosted by his old school, Bury Grammar School, he conducted some mock interviews with sixth form students.

One of these students was Lucy Lewis, who is interested in a career in mechanical engineering within the scientific sector – a perfect fit for Sercon.

In the development team here, Tom has been working on a number of mechanical engineering projects. Lucy helped with testing and successfully demonstrated techniques and methods.

Lucy has just finished her A levels and is awaiting results day this week with bated breath! She hopes to go to Sheffield to study a mechanical engineering Bachelors degree. Tom commented “We’re planning to have her back in a few weeks to help with more testing, so I’d say it’s been a very successful week!”

We’re always on the lookout for people to join the team who are enthusiastic about isotopes and IRMS instrumentation, and believe in the collaborative ethos of the company. If you would like to be considered for future vacancies at Sercon, please send your CV to info@sercongroup.com.
